Forest City generator set control panels upgraded

Following recent technical advances made by Deep Sea Plc, the UK manufacturer of generator set control modules used in the assembly of Forest City generator set control panels, Forest City are pleased to announce the following changes being implemented in the standard scope of supply of their control panels:- Forest City will no longer be supplying control panels fitted with the following Deep Sea control modules that have been standard scope of supply in the past:- Deep Sea 701K, Deep Sea 521K, Deep Sea 3110, Deep Sea 6120, or the Deep Sea 550 or 5510 autosynchronising modules.

We have also simplified the control systems to enable any brand new Forest City generator set to be used for either manual or fully automatic control, enabling the end user to upgrade easily and simply from a manually controlled generator set to a fully automatically controlled set with automatic load transfer switch. The standard scope of supply of the new Forest City generator control panels will be:-

For sets up to 650kVA:- Deep Sea 7110 if mains phase sensing is not required, or Deep Sea 7120 if mains sensing is required. These sets will not be supplied with a mains powered constant potential battery charger unless requested. For a full automatic mains failure specification you simply need to add the battery charger and automatic transfer switch panel.

For sets over 650kVA the standard control panel will be fitted with the Deep Sea 7220 automatic mains failure control module with mains sensing, and a constant potential battery charger as the majority of sets of this size are required for standby use. The only addition required for a fully automatic system would be the automatic load transfer switch.

The Deep Sea 7510 becomes the standard scope of supply for control of automatic synchronising and load share applications, replacing the older 5510.

An emergency stop button also becomes standard on all Forest City generator control panels.

Forest City appoints new MD - 08/10/2008

Forest City Generators, world renowned supplier of diesel generator sets from 7.5kVA up to 3045kVA, powered by Perkins, Volvo, Deutz and MTU diesel engines close coupled to alternators from Stamford and Mecc-Alte are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Andrew G. Lamb as their new Managing Director.

Mr Lamb has worked with Forest City since September 2000, working his way up from Export Sales and Marketing Executive through to General Manager, and we welcome the anticipated effects that his experience and his dedication to the company and our many customers around the World will bring.

Mr Lamb has many years experience of servicing the International community with high quality engineered products, and is fully conversant with the necessary shipping and banking procedures associated with the industry. He has also had a number of articles published in the worlds trade press relating to technical issues and their solutions in our industry.
