Self Assembly, or CKD (Completely Knocked Down) Generators

Forest City can supply an engine assembly, complete with radiator and cooling package, together with a matching alternator for local assembly. This enables you, our customer, to take advantage of the savings achieved by importation of loose components together with the potential benefit of cheaper local assembly. Simply choose from the wide range of Perkins, Volvo, MTU and Deutz engines, matched up with a suitably rated Stamford or Mecc-Alte alternator from our massive stock. We can also supply various other components for your self assembly generator set like anti-vibration mountings, Deep Sea control modules, wiring looms, exhaust silencers and flexible connections, dry charged batteries, battery trays and cables, and even complete control panels ready to wire into your generator set.

Due to the high levels of engine and alternator stock constantly carried, we can often arrange dispatch, from our warehouse, of full container loads of CKD generator sets within just two days from receipt of your confirmed order with covering payment. This is far faster than any of the engine and alternator manufacturers would be able to supply you with the same equipment, and you are guaranteed to receive engine and alternator at the same time, in the same delivery, ready for immediate assembly.

Savings can also be made in the cost of freight by significantly reducing the overall volume of goods being shipped.

In addition to this, local customs tariffs sometimes make it beneficial to itemise the engine and alternator individually on shipping documents.
